Vertex Break is a Serbian company specializing in game porting & co-development and network development (netcode, server infrastructure, multiplayer protocols) for Steam, PS4/PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and GOG.

We're hiring a QA Engineer / Game Tester for the team working on the multiplayer of a popular survival game with a large, active player base, in cooperation with its developer.

The company is based in Belgrade and is opening an office in Novi Sad — we hire locally: starting remote, moving to office work as it opens.

What you'll do

- Functional and regression testing of multiplayer (client + dedicated server)
- Set up and run multi-client / server test sessions across configs and builds
- Reproduce, isolate and document network bugs (desync, lag, packet loss, server stability, anti-cheat) with clear repro steps, logs and configs
- Maintain and execute test cases and regression checklists
- Verify fixes, track issues in the tracker (Jira-style), prioritize with developers and the PM
- Give clear, structured feedback to the team (in English)

Must-have

- Fluent English — required (bug reports, documentation and partner communication are in English)
1–2+ years in QA / software testing
- Strong bug-reporting skills: attention to detail, methodical approach, clear reproduction steps
- Experience with issue trackers (Jira or similar)
- Basic understanding of client-server / multiplayer models; comfortable with logs and configs
- Based in Novi Sad (or willing to be present / relocate)

Nice to have

- Russian language — preferred (the team is mostly Russian-speaking)
- Experience testing games or multiplayer/network applications
- Test automation & scripting (Python / Lua, etc.), basic SQL, network tools (e.g. Wireshark), load testing
- Familiarity with the game as a player or modder
- Technical background (Java / C/C++ / Lua)
